At the start of the year, we asked for help. You answered with generosity, belief, and love. Over 1,300 supporters stood with us during the Cathedral in Crisis campaign, and thanks to you, Peterborough Cathedral is not only standing it’s thriving. A new generation of choristers now fills the Cathedral with music.

Music

At Peterborough Cathedral, music has been at the heart of worship for over 1000 years, dating back to its days as a Benedictine Abbey. Today, our dedicated music team nurtures 120 talented musicians across our choirs which includes 52 children in our main choir, 14 in our youth choir, 45-50 in our junior choirs and 6 adult back-row singers. Together they sing six days a week, performing at eight services, alongside special events like concerts, hospital visits, and community gatherings.

Maintaining these high standards of choral worship is only possible with your support. Funding is essential to sustain our choirs, including singing lessons that are already limited to just 10 minutes per week. Your generosity helps us continue providing scholarships, commissioning new music, and inspiring the next generation of musicians. Your support keeps this centuries old tradition alive for future generations.
