Hastings Music Endowment Fund

The Hastings Trust, named in memory of Sir Stephen Hastings and his wife Elizabeth Anne Hastings, has in recent years contributed approximately one third of the cost of maintaining the choral tradition at Peterborough Cathedral. Grants to Chapter are agreed on an annual basis and made quarterly.

The Hastings fund was created following a major appeal at the turn of the 21st century. This appeal established the concept of “Endow a Day”, whereby donors nominate a particular day, most often in memory of a loved one or significant event. In return for their donation, donors are invited to attend the service at which their dedication is read out during the prayers.
