    Opening Times

      Check this page for current Cathedral opening times and for dates when there is limited or no access. From 21st September – 15th November, entry to the Cathedral is via Mary Queen of Scots exhibition ticket which can be purchased here. Please note our Winter Opening times begin on 1st October with closing changing to 4pm.

    Opening times are usually:

    • Monday to Saturday –  10.00am to 4.00pm. 
    • Sunday – 12.00 noon to 3.00pm

    Don’t miss our Top Ten Things to See and check out our Highlights Tour and Tower Tour, which are on selected dates.

    Entry for visitors is by donation. Both contactless card and cash donation options are available. Donations are vital to help with Cathedral running costs.

    Changes to opening times and access

    Cathedral Closures & Restrictions:

     

    October
    Thursday 1st – Winter opening hours commence – 10 – 4pm.
    Saturday 3rd – Be A Chorister For a Day. Open from 1.30pm
    Wednesday 7th – Closed all day. Shop open and chapel for private prayer.
    Thursday 8th – Stage set up and sound checks all day
    Friday 9th – Stage set up and sound checks all day
    Thursday 15th – Organ Tuning. May cause audible discomfort.
    Friday 16th – Closed from 1.30pm (School Speech Day)
    Saturday 17th – Stage set up and sound checks all day
    Friday 23rd – Stage set up and sound checks all day
    Friday 24th – Stage set up and sound checks all day
    Thursday 29th – Stage set up and sound checks all day
    Friday 30th – Stage set up and sound checks all day
    Saturday 31st – Stage set up and sound checks all day
