Opening Times

  Check this page for current Cathedral opening times and for dates when there is limited or no access. Please note our Winter Opening times begin on 1st October with closing changing to 4pm.

Opening times are usually:

  • Monday to Saturday –  10.00am to 5.00pm. 
  • Sunday – 12.00 noon to 3.00pm

Entry for visitors is by donation. Both contactless card and cash donation options are available. Donations are vital to help with Cathedral running costs.

Changes to opening times and access

Cathedral Closures & Restrictions:

 

Saturday 5 September – Precincts, Cloisters AND Cathedral closed for Feel the Force Day. Tickets will be needed to enter via the Norman Arch.

Sunday 6 September – Open as normal.

Monday 7 September – Open as normal.

Tuesday 8 September – Open as normal for some of the day. Closed 12.30pm – 3.30pm for Nene Park Academy event.

Wednesday 9 September – Open until 12 noon, then closed for Anglian Water Event. Cloisters closed.

Thursday 10 September – Open until 12 noon, then closed for UCP Graduation.

Friday 11 September – Open as normal, then closed for Kings School Service.

Saturday 12 September – Closed (private prayer, candles and shop open) due to Princesses show. 

Sunday 13 September – Open as normal.

Monday 14 September – Only the Nave will be open to visitors, there will be no access to the tombs of KoA or MQS or to customer toilets.

Tuesday 15 September – Only the Nave will be open to visitors, there will be no access to the tombs of KoA or MQS or to customer toilets.

Wednesday 16 September – Only the Nave will be open to visitors, there will be no access to the tombs of KoA or MQS or to customer toilets.

Thursday 17 September – Only the Nave will be open to visitors, there will be no access to the tombs of KoA or MQS or to customer toilets.

Friday 18 September – For Health and Safety reasons, the Cathedral will be fully closed, and no access to Cloisters or Galilee Lawn. No access for Private Prayer, Candles or shop.

Saturday 19 September – Open as normal but please be aware of disruption through technical builds and soundchecks for the evening performance. Please note noise levels may be high and flashing/strobe lights may be used.
