A day for enthusiastic amateur photographers to learn new camera skills whilst exploring some of the more hidden areas of the Cathedral.
Led by experienced photographer, curator and tutor, Adrian Stone, this workshop will help you to gain confidence in using depth of field and some of the other techniques needed for good architectural photography.
During the day there will be opportunities to photograph the Cathedral both at ground level and the upper levels, as well as in the Cathedral library. Subjects include stained glass, architectural details and both interior and exterior views.
There will be group sessions and individual tuition, and an opportunity to learn more about the architecture of the building from a Cathedral guide.
Adrian Stone has been both the Curator and Education Officer at The Photographic Angle, a national photographic charity. He has taught at City College Peterborough for 5 years and judges, lectures and runs photography workshops in the East and South East.
What to bring with you
Bring your own camera, ideally both a wide and medium telephoto lens, a fully charged battery, an empty memory card, your camera's manual, and a packed lunch. A tripod would be extremely useful. You can use flash in the Cathedral. You will need sturdy footwear for the uneven surfaces. More detailed joining instructions will be sent when you book.
