Cathedral Governance

The governance of the Cathedral is regulated by statute, as required by the Cathedrals Measure 1999. The Cathedral Chapter published its Vision and Values in July 2019.

Cathedral governance may not seem like the most exciting of topics but at an institution as big as Peterborough Cathedral, with its staff, its many volunteers and it’s significant outreach across the diocese, it’s important that all we do is properly managed and well ordered.

The Church of England has recently passed new legislation which, amongst other things, will ensure that the Cathedral comes under the oversight of the Charity Commission.

So, as we are now publicly accountable its an opportunity for anyone to comment on our new constitution and statutes.

All the relevant documents are now available using the links below, so please have a look, and if you have any questions or comments, we would be glad to hear from you.

Integrity is one of the key values of the Cathedral, so it’s important that we are fully accountable to the people that we serve.
