Singing has been a part of worship at Peterborough Cathedral for over 1000 years. As a Benedictine abbey generations of monks sang the offices. At the foundation of the Cathedral in 1541, the choir was formed along with The King’s School for the education of the choristers.
The Cathedral’s four-manual Hill organ is one of the finest of its kind in the country. Originally built in 1894,it was re-pitched from old philharmonic to standard concert pitch in 2015.
