Sun 13th October - Pedestrian access only to the Cathedral due to the Great Eastern Run

Come and ‘Be a Chorister for a Day’ on Saturday 5th October!

Friday 13 September

Do you know anyone aged six or seven who loves to sing? If so, the Cathedral is holding its annual ‘Be a Chorister for a Day’ event on Saturday 5th October from 10.00am to 1.20pm.

All children in school Year 2 are invited to come to this free event, which is designed to help children understand what it is like to be a Cathedral chorister.

The day will include musical activities and a tour of the Cathedral, as well as the opportunity to meet some of the current choristers. The children will also sing at a short service in the Cathedral at 1.00pm, which parents and visitors are invited to attend.

‘Be a Chorister for a Day’ is open to any child in Year 2 who would like to take part, but booking is essential. Please contact Penny Wood on music@peterborough-cathedral.org.uk.

The Cathedral’s music department will also be holding auditions in November for children in school Year 2 to join the Cathedral choir. The 2019 Voice Trials take place on Monday 4th, Wednesday 6th and Friday 8th November, with those chosen joining the choir in September 2020. More information about these auditions can be found at www.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/choristerships.aspx.
