Snap Up a Place on Cathedral's New Photography Workshops

Thursday 23 March

Amateur and experienced photographers alike are invited to sign up for two new photography workshops at Peterborough Cathedral.

The workshops, led by experienced photographer, curator and tutor Adrian Stone, will help photographers gain confidence in using depth of field and other techniques needed for good architectural photography.

The Secrets of the Cathedral Photography Workshopdesigned for amateur photographers, takes place on Saturday 15th April 2023, from 10.30am to 3.00pm. During the day there will be opportunities to photograph the Cathedral both at ground level and the upper levels, as well as in the spectacular Cathedral library which is not usually open to the public. Subjects will include stained glass, architectural details and both interior and exterior views including the iconic West Front.

The Composition in the Camera Photography Workshop takes place on Saturday 8th July 2023, from 11.00am until 4.00pm. This session is designed for more experienced photographers who would like to develop their skill in using balanced exposure, best vantage points and contre-jour photography to strengthen their pictures.

Adrian Stone, leader of both workshops, has been both the Curator and Education Officer at The Photographic Angle, a national photographic charity. He has also taught at City College Peterborough and judges, lectures and runs photography workshops in the East and South East of England.

Participants are asked to bring their own equipment, ideally both a wide and medium telephoto lens, a fully charged battery, an empty memory card, and not forgetting a packed lunch!

A limited number of spaces are available for each workshop to allow for individually tailored instruction. Tickets are £30 for each workshop, with a 10% discount if you book two of the photography workshops at the same tim amd 15% discount for booking three.
