Light Show Brings Thousands to City Centre

Wednesday 29 November

Luxmuralis' light and sound extravaganza, 'The Manger', is another great success

Light and sound display, 'The Manger' by Luxmuralis was another great success for the city last week, with almost 8000 visitors to Peterborough Cathedral across the 4 days. The event attracted people from every generation and across the region; from families and couples, to a local charity, Little Miracles who brought groups of children along to experience the immersive, multi-sensory experience.

Cathedral staff and volunteers were commended for their high levels of dedication and commitment to the event which ensured that Luxmuralis 2023 exceeded all expectations bringing many people to the city centre. The vast majority of the many reviews received, were extremely positive and complimentary. Some visitors expressed that they were moved by a deeper, spiritual experience during the display, while others enjoyed the evening as a couple or a fun-filled family night out. The main objective was to attract visitors of every generation to the Cathedral and city centre and this was certainly achieved. The Very Revd Chris Dalliston, Dean of Peterborough said:

'It has been wonderful to welcome so many people to our Luxmuralis display this year. This annual light and sound show has become a festive tradition for many families in the region, and it is a delight to see the Cathedral bringing so much joy to so many. A big thankyou to all involved!'
