Sun 13th October - Pedestrian access only to the Cathedral due to the Great Eastern Run

Peterborough Cathedral is focusing on photography

Monday 5 March

Two photography tours are being held at Peterborough Cathedral in April. A ‘Beginners’ Photography Tour’ is happening on Saturday 14th April, while an ‘Architectural Photography Advanced Tour’ will take place on Monday 23rd April.

The ‘Beginners’ Photography Tour’ is a new workshop for budding photographers. During this tour, attendees will be able to find out about the Cathedral’s construction and history, whilst at the same time taking lots of photographs. Expert advice will also be on hand to guide and advise guests on different types of shots, and how to achieve the best results.

Meanwhile, the ‘Architectural Photography Advanced Tour’ will be a masterclass for keen amateur photographers. With the spectacular setting of the Cathedral as a backdrop, the tour offers the perfect opportunity for guests to develop their photographic skills. Advice will be given to learners regarding specific subjects to photograph, and students will have access to some spaces which are not often open to visitors. The tour will also cover the long and eventful architectural and social history of the Cathedral.

Both tours are being led by Adrian Stone – an experienced photographer, curator and tutor who has taught at City College Peterborough for five years. He has been both the Curator and Education Officer at The Photographic Angle – a national photographic charity – and judges, lectures and runs photography workshops in the East and South East.

The ‘Beginners' Photography Tour’ is taking place from 11:00am to 3:15pm on Saturday 14th April. Guests are advised to bring their own cameras. However, all photographic equipment is suitable, including camera phones. Tickets cost £30, and can booked via http://shop.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/phototour3.

The ‘Architectural Photography Advanced Tour’ takes place from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Monday 23rd April 2018. Guests are also advised to bring their own cameras. A digital SLR camera or bridge camera and a tripod would be ideal, but not essential. Tickets cost £40, and can be booked via http://shop.peterborough-cathedral.org.uk/phototour4.

A limited number of spaces are available on both tours, so early booking is advised. Tea and coffee will be provided, but guests are advised to bring a packed lunch.
