Vice Dean appointed to Peterborough Cathedral

Monday 12 February

It was announced on 9th February 2018 that the Revd Canon Tim Alban Jones, Residentiary Canon and the Bishop of Peterborough’s Chaplain, has accepted the role of Vice Dean at the Cathedral.

As part of his Visitation Charge in 2016, the Bishop of Peterborough recommended that the Cathedral Chapter re-shape its governance by the appointment of a Vice Dean from among the Chapter clergy for a three year term; the appointment to be made by the Dean of Peterborough.

The Dean the Very Reverend Chris Dalliston said he was delighted that Tim had agreed to take on this important role.

"During the interregnum Tim has been Acting Dean, he has the confidence of his colleagues and brings a good deal of expertise and wisdom to the role.

This appointment is another step in the Cathedral’s progress in building robust systems of governance as we celebrate our 900th anniversary and look with confidence to the future"
